Our aim is to promote the study of entrepreneurship in its historical context by creating an exciting new Study Centre with library, exhibitions and meeting rooms.

Registered as a charity in January 2001, the trust holds a major collection of research materials, including 40,000 specialist books on economics, business and industrial history. We are planning a new building which will allow us to fully exploit the collection. The centre will be open to all members of the public interested in historical topics. It will also function as a 'research hotel' where academics and graduate students can escape from the pressures of modern university life and work without interruption on major projects. We are currently looking for a convenient site with suitable heritage connections.

Once established, the Study Centre will attract visiting researchers from all over the world. Its activities will be organised to ensure a major long-run contribution to the local economy.
